Chemistry, Chemistry Honors, Physical Science Honors

Education

  • Ph.D., Chemistry 2007
  • Concentration: Biochemistry
  • Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR
  • Advisor: Dr. Francis S. Millett.
  • Dissertation: Kinetic studies in the reaction between cytochrome c and cytochrome c
  • oxidase.
  • My graduate work involved measuring the intermolecular and intramolecular rate constants for cytochrome c oxidase under different experimental conditions. This allowed for the following interactions to be probed: substrate-enzyme interactions, intramolecular reaction intermediates, and affinity kinetics.

  • B.S., Chemistry 2002
  • Department of Physical Sciences, Nicholls State University, Thibodaux, LA
  • My undergraduate studies included a combination of chemistry and biology classes. I also did research focused on fat storage allocation in the mosquito fish (Gambusia affinis).
